Cookie Policy

Last updated 31 July 2026

This policy explains what Reviews Widget stores on your device when you use this website, and what the embedded review widget stores on the devices of people visiting a customer’s site. “Cookies” here also covers similar technologies such as local storage, which we use more than actual cookies.

The short version

  • We only set storage that is strictly necessary to run the site.
  • We do not currently run analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
  • The embedded review widget sets no cookies on your visitors’ devices.
  • If we ever add analytics or Google Ads measurement, it will only run where you have consented — the preference controls below already record that choice.

Strictly necessary storage

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They do not track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies

None in use today. If we add product analytics in future, we will list the provider and cookie names here, and the tag will only load for visitors who have allowed analytics in their cookie preferences.

Marketing and advertising cookies

None in use today. We advertise Reviews Widget on Google Ads, but conversion measurement and remarketing tags are not currently installed on this site. If we install them, we will use Google Consent Mode v2: advertising and analytics storage stay denied until you allow the marketing category, and this page will be updated with the specific cookies involved.

Cookies set by the embedded widget

When a customer embeds a Reviews Widget widget, the widget script renders reviews inside a shadow DOM on their page. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage, and does not fingerprint or profile the visitor. It requests the review data for that widget and renders it — nothing more.

Reviewer profile photos may be loaded from the originating review platform (for example Google, Trustpilot or Facebook). Those platforms can see the request for the image, in the same way as any other image hosted elsewhere. Customers who need to avoid that can turn reviewer avatars off in the widget settings.

Managing your choices

You can change your consent at any time. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we will ask again.

You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop you from signing in and using the widget editor.

Legal basis and your rights

Where required (EEA, UK, Switzerland and Brazil among others) we rely on your consent for any non-essential storage, and on our legitimate interest in operating a working website for strictly necessary storage. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button above, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

For details on how we handle personal information generally — including access, correction and deletion requests — see our Privacy Policy.
