What is a Google review link?
A Google review link is a short URL that opens the review box for your business straight away, with the star selector already showing. It is built from your Place ID using Google’s standard format,search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…so customers skip searching Maps and can leave a review in about thirty seconds.
How to generate your Google review link
Three steps, no account. Search your business, confirm the right listing, then copy the link. If your business name is common, add your suburb or city — or switch to the Paste tab and drop in your Google Maps share link or Place ID instead.
1. Search your business
Type your business name and suburb into the generator above.
2. Pick your listing
Choose the matching Google Business Profile from the results.
3. Copy and share
Copy the review link, download the QR code, send the templates.
Google review QR code generator
Every link you generate comes with a matching Google review QR code you can download as a PNG at no cost. Scanning it opens your review box on the customer’s phone — ideal for receipts, invoices, table talkers, counter cards, business cards, vehicle signage and thank-you flyers. Because the QR code encodes your Place ID, it keeps working even if you rename or move your listing, so printed material never goes stale.
How to use your Google review link
Text it after the job
The highest-converting moment is right after a good experience. Send the link by SMS while you're still front of mind.
Add it to email signatures
"Happy with our work? Leave us a review" in every email your team sends costs nothing and compounds.
Print the QR code
Receipts, invoices, table cards, counter stands, vehicle signage and thank-you notes all work.
Put it on your website
A "Review us on Google" button on your contact or thank-you page captures the people already in a good mood.
Use it in follow-up emails
Automate a single review request a day or two after delivery — one polite ask, no chasing.
Share it with staff
Give every team member the same link so requests are consistent and land on the right listing.
How to get more Google reviews
The businesses that win on review volume do three things: they ask everyone, they ask within hours of the experience, and they make it a single tap. Pair your Google review link with the right moment and channel, and never offer discounts or gifts in exchange — Google prohibits incentivised reviews and removes them.
| Moment to ask | Best channel |
|---|---|
| Right after the job or visit | SMS with your review link — highest response rate by far. |
| At the counter or table | Printed QR code the customer scans before they leave. |
| One to two days after delivery | A single polite follow-up email with the link as the only call to action. |
| Every day, passively | Email signature, invoice footer and a review button on your website. |
| After a positive reply or referral | Reply in the same thread with the link while goodwill is fresh. |
Review volume, recency and your replies all feed local ranking — see how Google ranks local businesses and how to respond to Google reviews.

- · Copy the review link directly from widget settings and paste it into emails, SMS, invoices or your site.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Google review link?+
It is a short URL that opens the Google review box for your business straight away, with the star selector already showing. Instead of asking customers to search Maps and hunt for the review button, you send one link and they can leave a review in about thirty seconds.
How do I generate a Google review link?+
Search your business name (add your suburb if it is a common name), pick the matching listing, and the generator returns your Google review link instantly. You can also paste a Google Maps share link or a Place ID. Copy the link and start sending it — no account needed.
How do I create a QR code for Google reviews?+
Generate your review link above and the Google review QR code is created automatically. Download it as a PNG and print it on receipts, counter cards, table talkers or signage. Scanning it opens your Google review box directly on the customer's phone.
Does my Google review link ever expire?+
No. The link is built from your Place ID, which is Google's permanent identifier for your business location. It keeps working if you rename your business, change your phone number or update your address, so you can print it without worrying about reprints.
How do I get more Google reviews?+
Ask everyone, ask quickly and make it one tap. Send your Google review link by SMS within a few hours of the job, add it to your email signature and invoices, print the QR code where customers wait, and train staff to mention it. Never offer incentives — Google prohibits it.
Is this Google review link generator really free?+
Yes. There is no sign-up, no email required and no limit on how many businesses you look up (we apply a light per-visitor search limit to keep the tool available for everyone).
Where does the link come from?+
We look your business up in Google's own Places data and build the link from your Place ID using Google's standard writereview URL format: search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID.
What is a Place ID and why do I need it?+
A Place ID is Google's permanent identifier for a business location. It never changes when you rename or move your listing in Maps, which makes it the most reliable way to build a review link, an embed or a widget.
Can I use the QR code on printed material?+
Yes. Download the PNG and put it on receipts, invoices, table talkers, counter cards, business cards, vehicle signage or a thank-you flyer. Scanning it opens the review box on the customer's phone.
Is it legal to ask customers for Google reviews?+
Asking is fine and Google encourages it. What is not allowed is incentivising, buying, filtering or writing reviews yourself. Ask everyone, not just the customers you think will be positive.
My business does not appear in the search results — what now?+
Add your suburb or city to the search, or switch to the Paste tab and drop in your Google Maps share link or Place ID. If the business has no Google Business Profile yet, you will need to create and verify one before a review link can exist.
How do I show the new reviews on my website?+
Once reviews start arriving, Reviews Widget can pull them in and display them on any website with one line of code, including star schema markup. The free plan covers a single grid with your Google reviews.
Can I add a Write a review button to my website for free?+
Yes. The Write a review button is included in every Reviews Widget plan, free and paid. You can create a standalone button that leads customers to your Google Business Profile or any connected source listing, or copy the direct review link from your widget settings and use it anywhere. A free account also gives you a fully styled, no-code version — your colours, rounded or square, floating or inline, and multiple review platforms in one menu.
Do I need an account to use the button or the QR code?+
No. The review link, Place ID, QR code, request templates and the copy-and-paste button HTML on this page are all free with no sign-up. You only need a free account if you also want to create a styled, no-code Write a review button, display your reviews on your site, or manage multiple source listings from one place.
