Feature

Collect reviews directly from your website

Not every happy customer has a Google account, and Trustpilot's own funnel is a lot of clicks away from your product page. Reviews Widget's built-in review form lets visitors leave a rating and comment right where they already are — with full moderation in your dashboard before anything goes live.

Built-in review form

Toggle "Allow visitors to submit reviews" on any widget. The Write-a-Review button switches from a platform dropdown to an in-widget form: name, star rating, comment. Submissions land in your dashboard's Manual Reviews queue in seconds.

Moderation before publish

Every manual submission is held pending until you approve, edit or reject it — no spam risk, no offensive language slipping through. Approved reviews are indistinguishable from platform reviews in the widget: same card, same schema, same weight in the aggregate rating.

A safety net for platform gaps

Yelp filters aggressive amounts of legitimate reviews. Facebook recommendations are hidden behind a login. Google requires a Gmail account. A manual review form gives you a fallback for visitors who genuinely want to leave feedback but can't be bothered navigating a third-party platform.

Frequently asked questions

How does the review submission form work?+

Enable manual reviews on any widget and a 'Write a review' button opens an in-widget form. Visitors enter their name, rating and comment; the submission lands in your dashboard for moderation before it ever appears live.

Do manual reviews get schema markup too?+

Yes. Once you approve a manual review, it's rendered inside the same Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD as the platform reviews — so it contributes to your aggregate score and rich snippet eligibility.

Is the form spam-protected?+

Yes. The public submission endpoint is rate-limited per IP and every submission requires moderation approval, so nothing goes live without a click from you.

Can I use it as a replacement for Google reviews?+

It's a complement, not a replacement. Google reviews still carry the most weight for local SEO — but a review form is a great safety net for visitors who don't have a Google account or find leaving a Google review awkward.

Can I edit or delete a manual review after approving it?+

Yes. Every manual review has full moderation controls in the dashboard — approve, reject, edit or delete at any time.
