Trustpilot widgets explained (and how to show Trustpilot with Google)

By The Reviews Widget product team8 min read

A Trustpilot widget (TrustBox) shows your TrustScore and Trustpilot reviews on your site, with more designs on paid Trustpilot plans. TrustBoxes only show Trustpilot. If customers also review you on Google, a multi-source widget lets you show both in one place with one snippet.

What is a Trustpilot widget?

A Trustpilot widget is Trustpilot's own embeddable code, branded as a TrustBox. It shows your TrustScore, star rating, review count and, in some designs, a carousel of recent reviews. It reads straight from your Trustpilot business profile, so new reviews appear without you lifting a finger.

Common TrustBox designs include the Micro Star, Mini, Horizontal, Carousel, Grid and Review Collector. Product review TrustBoxes are a separate group that needs Trustpilot's Product Reviews add-on.

Trustpilot widgets on free and paid plans

Which TrustBoxes you get depends on your Trustpilot plan. Trustpilot doesn't publish one fixed list for every plan, so the reliable check is in your business account: open Share and promote, then Website widgets, and filter by "Only included in your plan".

How to add a Trustpilot widget to your website

  1. In Trustpilot Business, go to Share & promote → Website widgets, pick a TrustBox and copy its code.
  2. Paste the TrustBox script once into the <head> of your site.
  3. Paste the widget HTML where it should appear on the page.
  4. On WordPress or Shopify, you can use Trustpilot's integration instead of pasting code.
  5. Publish, then check the page on a phone.

How to show Trustpilot widgets with Google reviews

Plenty of businesses collect reviews in two places: Trustpilot for online orders and Google for local searches. Two separate widgets look disjointed and slow the page down. A multi-source widget combines both into one display, with one rating summary and optional source tabs.

With Reviews Widget, you connect your Trustpilot and Google profiles to the same widget. Reviews are merged, and visitors can filter by source. It works with 17 review platforms in total. Learn how multi-platform reviews work, or see the Trustpilot reviews widget.

Trustpilot widget not showing? Quick fixes

The head script is missing

The widget HTML does nothing on its own. Make sure the TrustBox script is in the head of every page that shows a widget.

Your builder strips scripts

Some page builders remove scripts from text blocks. Use a dedicated HTML, Code or Embed block instead.

The domain doesn't match

Check that the business unit in the code matches the Trustpilot profile for your domain.

Your site is a single-page app

On React or similar sites, call Trustpilot's loadFromElement after the widget element appears on screen.

Which should you choose?

If Trustpilot is your only review source, a TrustBox from your own account is the simplest choice. If customers also review you on Google or elsewhere, one multi-source widget keeps the page tidy and shows your full reputation. Compare costs on our pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Trustpilot widget?+

A Trustpilot widget, called a TrustBox, is a small block of code from Trustpilot that shows your TrustScore, star rating and recent Trustpilot reviews on your website. It updates automatically from your Trustpilot profile.

Are Trustpilot widgets free?+

Trustpilot's free business account includes a limited set of standard TrustBoxes. More designs, such as carousels and product review widgets, depend on your paid Trustpilot plan or add-ons. Your Trustpilot account shows which widgets your plan includes.

Can a Trustpilot widget show Google reviews?+

No. TrustBoxes only show Trustpilot content. To show Trustpilot and Google reviews together, use a multi-source review widget that pulls both profiles into one display.

How do I add a Trustpilot widget to my website?+

Copy the TrustBox script into your page head, then paste the widget code where it should appear. On WordPress or Shopify you can use Trustpilot's integrations instead. A multi-source widget like ours needs only one snippet pasted once.

Why is my Trustpilot widget not showing?+

The most common causes are a missing head script, a page builder that strips scripts, a domain that doesn't match your Trustpilot business, or a single-page app that loads the widget before the code runs.

Do Trustpilot widgets work in the UK, Canada and New Zealand?+

Yes. TrustBoxes work on any website, and you can pick the language and locale of the widget text. The reviews themselves come from your single Trustpilot profile, whichever country domain customers used.
