Step-by-step guide

How to embed Facebook reviews on your website

To embed Facebook reviews, make sure recommendations are public on your page, paste the page URL into Reviews Widget, style the widget, then copy one script tag into your website.

Step 1 — find your Facebook link

Everything starts with the public Facebook URL. There is no API key, no app install and nothing to configure on Facebook itself.

  1. 1Open your Facebook page while logged in.
  2. 2Copy the page URL from the address bar (facebook.com/<page name> or facebook.com/profile.php?id=…).
  3. 3Make sure Reviews or Recommendations are switched on and public in your page settings.
  4. 4Paste the URL into Add source → Facebook in your dashboard.

Step 2 — build and embed the widget

  1. 1Create a free account. Sign up at reviewswidget.app and create your first grid. No card is needed to start.
  2. 2Add the review source. Open Add source in the left sidebar, choose the platform, then paste the listing URL. Reviews import within about a minute.
  3. 3Style the widget. Pick grid, masonry, list, carousel or floating star badge, then set colours, corner style, header text and how many words show before Read more.
  4. 4Copy the embed code. Open Add to your site and copy the single <script> tag. It renders inside a Shadow DOM so nothing inherits or leaks your site's CSS.
  5. 5Paste it into your website. Drop the script into any HTML block — WordPress Custom HTML, Shopify custom Liquid, Wix Embed HTML, Squarespace Code block, Webflow Embed, or straight into your template.
  6. 6Publish and check the stars. Publish the page, then run it through Google's Rich Results Test to confirm the Review and AggregateRating markup is valid.

Where to paste the script on each platform

Where the Facebook reviews embed code goes on each website builder
PlatformWhere the embed code goes
WordPressA Custom HTML block in Gutenberg, a Classic Editor text tab, or a sidebar HTML widget
ElementorThe HTML widget inside any section or column
ShopifyA custom Liquid section on the page or product template
WixThe Embed HTML element (Embed a widget) in the Editor or Wix Studio
SquarespaceA Code block on 7.1, with Display Source unticked
WebflowAn Embed element in Designer, then publish
Plain HTMLAnywhere in the body — static sites, Astro, Next.js, Hugo, Eleventy or Jekyll

The exact clicks for each builder are covered in the pillar embed guide — the steps are identical whichever review source you connected.

Step 3 — check your star markup

The widget emits Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD when schema is enabled for that widget. Reviews must be visible on the page for markup to be eligible, and Google decides whether to show a rich result. More detail in review schema explained and star rich snippets.

Before you publish

Connect only a listing you own or are authorised to represent. Reviews appear exactly as published, with the Facebook source badge and a link to the original review on every card. Facebook is a trademark of its owner; Reviews Widget is not affiliated with Facebook.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Facebook app or token?+

No. You paste the public page URL; nothing is installed in Meta Business Suite.

My page has reviews but none imported — why?+

Recommendations are almost certainly switched off or restricted. Enable them publicly and refresh the source.

Can I mix Facebook and Google reviews?+

Yes, as tabs in a single widget with a combined average.
