How to embed Google reviews on Squarespace
Squarespace embeds fail for two predictable reasons: the Display Source toggle, and people checking the editor instead of the live site. Get those two right and adding live Google reviews takes about five minutes.

The Code Block, and the setting people miss
Squarespace's Code Block runs HTML — unless Display Source is switched on, in which case it prints your markup as visible text on the page. Set the block to HTML, leave Display Source off, and the script executes as intended.

Style the widget
Choose a layout, then match your Squarespace site styles — colours, corner radius and font scale — using the live preview at desktop, tablet and mobile widths.

Copy the embed snippet
Open the Embed tab and copy the one-line script tag.

Edit the Squarespace page
Open the page and click Edit, then hover where the reviews should go and click the insert point.

Insert a Code Block
Search the block menu for Code and add a Code Block. Set the block's mode to HTML and turn Display Source off, or Squarespace will print the tag as text instead of running it.

Paste the snippet and save
Paste the script tag into the block, click outside it, then Save. Squarespace shows a grey placeholder in the editor rather than the rendered reviews.

View the live site and verify
Open the published page in a browser — reviews render there, not in the editor. Run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test to see the JSON-LD parse.

Which Squarespace plans allow code
Code Blocks and Code Injection are paid-plan features. If the Code Block does not appear in your block menu, the snippet is not the problem — your plan does not permit custom code, and upgrading is the only route. Check Squarespace's current plan comparison before assuming a fault.
Choosing a review widget for Squarespace
Adding Google reviews to a Squarespace website is really a question of what the reviews should look like once they are there. A grid suits a dedicated testimonials page, a list reads well inside a long services page, and a floating star badge keeps your rating visible sitewide without taking up a section. Every layout uses the same Code Block and the same snippet, so you can change your mind later without touching the page again.
